Fire Risk Assessments

At Fire Guard Compliance Ltd, we provide professional fire risk assessment services across the UK for a wide range of commercial premises, including offices, shops, warehouses, and residential blocks of flats.

A fire risk assessment is a legal requirement under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Every non-domestic premises must have a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment in place, and it must be regularly reviewed to ensure it remains valid and reflects any changes to the building, occupancy, or use.

The responsibility for ensuring a suitable fire risk assessment is in place lies with the Responsible Person. It must be carried out by a competent person with sufficient training, knowledge, and experience in fire safety principles and risk evaluation.

All fire risk assessments undertaken by Fire Guard Compliance Ltd are carried out by qualified fire safety professionals. Our assessors hold a minimum Level 3 fire risk assessment qualification and are members of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers, demonstrating recognised professional competence and commitment to industry standards.

Our assessments are structured, practical, and tailored to the specific risks present within your premises. We identify fire hazards, evaluate existing fire safety measures, and provide clear, prioritised recommendations to support compliance and improve overall fire safety management.

We do not rely on generic checklists. Instead, our approach focuses on the real-world use of the building and the actual level of risk present, ensuring the final report is both meaningful and actionable for the Responsible Person.

Fire Door Inspections

Independent inspections focused on compliance, safety, and practical recommendations.

At Fire Guard Compliance Ltd, we provide professional fire door inspection services across the UK, carried out by qualified and experienced fire door inspectors.

We are an independent fire door inspection company, meaning we do not carry out installation or remedial works. This ensures every inspection is fully impartial and focused solely on compliance, safety, and the true condition of each fire door set.

Our inspections include a detailed assessment of all key components, including door leaves, frames, seals, hinges, closers, glazing, and signage. Following the inspection, you will receive a clear, structured report outlining any defects or compliance issues, along with practical, prioritised recommendations for remedial action.

We always take a repair-first approach wherever reasonably practicable, and only recommend replacement where a fire door set cannot be brought back into compliance.

Because we do not offer remedial or installation services, our recommendations are never influenced by follow-on works. Every report is based purely on technical compliance, safety requirements, and professional judgement.

It is important to understand that not all fire door inspection services operate in this way. Some providers carry out both inspections and remedial or installation works. In these cases, there is a potential commercial conflict of interest, where inspection outcomes may be influenced—consciously or otherwise—by the scope of works they are able to deliver.

In addition, certain third-party accreditation schemes place restrictions on how members assess, repair, or replace fire doors, which can sometimes lead to a more standardised or replacement-led approach rather than a proportionate, repair-focused solution.

An independent inspection avoids these pressures entirely, ensuring that any recommendations are based strictly on compliance requirements and the actual condition of the door set.

Fire doors play a vital role in protecting escape routes and slowing the spread of fire and smoke. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Responsible Person must ensure fire doors are suitable, correctly installed, and properly maintained. Our inspections provide clear, documented evidence to support this responsibility.

Compartmentation

Surveys

Detailed passive fire protection surveys for walls, ceilings, risers, and service penetrations.

At Fire Guard Compliance Ltd, we provide professional fire compartmentation surveys across the UK for commercial and residential buildings, including offices, warehouses, retail premises, and residential blocks of flats.

We are an independent fire safety consultancy, meaning we do not carry out remediation, fire stopping works, or installation services. This ensures our surveys remain fully impartial and focused solely on identifying the true condition of a building’s fire compartmentation.

Fire compartmentation is a critical element of passive fire protection, designed to contain fire and smoke within defined areas of a building. However, it is frequently compromised over time through service installations, refurbishments, maintenance works, or unrecorded building alterations.

Our surveys involve a detailed inspection of fire-resisting walls, floors, ceilings, service penetrations, risers, and fire-stopping systems, assessing whether compartment lines remain correctly maintained and compliant with expected standards.

Following the survey, you will receive a clear, structured report identifying areas where fire compartmentation may have been breached or weakened, along with practical, prioritised recommendations for remedial action.

Because we do not undertake fire stopping or remediation works, our findings are not influenced by the scope or value of any follow-on work. Every recommendation is based purely on compliance requirements, technical assessment, and professional judgement.

This independence is important in passive fire protection work, where there can otherwise be a commercial incentive to over-specify remedial solutions or bundle works into larger remediation packages. Our approach ensures recommendations remain proportionate, justified, and focused on restoring fire integrity effectively.

All surveys are carried out by qualified fire safety professionals with experience in passive fire protection and building compliance, ensuring a competent and informed assessment of risk and condition.

Fire compartmentation issues are often hidden within the building fabric and may not be visible without a competent inspection. Our surveys provide clarity, documented evidence, and a reliable basis for managing fire safety compliance within your building.
